Foodbank Development Project Officer
Salary: £22,425 p.a. pro rata (£11.50/hr)
Hours: Full time (37.5hrs/wk) including out of hours and weekend work as needed.
Duration: This post is initially funded for 12 months. Any extension will be subject to funding and need.
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to be involved in shaping the future of crisis food provision in the City of Sunderland. The post is funded by Sunderland City Council and is based in Sunderland Foodbank. The post holder will be working with Sunderland Foodbank distribution centres and also with the independent foodbanks / food projects. It has been created to investigate current crisis food schemes in Sunderland, improve their offerings especially around fresh food, and to encourage cooperative working between the various projects and with other support and advice providers in Sunderland.
You will work closely with Sunderland Council and Sunderland Foodbank staff and volunteers. You will also have the support of Durham Christian Partnership the parent charity, who run multiple projects improving care and support for people in County Durham and beyond. The post is based in Sunderland. The work will involve regular travel around the City of Sunderland and visits to Chester-le-Street and further afield as required. A driving licence and access to a car will be essential.

Sunderland Foodbank Coordinator
Salary: £20,475 p.a. pro rata (£10.50/hr)
Hours: Part time including out of hours and weekend work as needed. Initially 25 hrs / week.
This is an opportunity to be involved in the development of the Sunderland foodbank network and operations.
We are seeking a part time coordinator to join our team to support and develop our foodbank network and the teams of volunteers at our 8 distribution centres across Sunderland. The role will based at our Sunderland office at The Coop Centre, Whitehouse Road SR2 8AH.
Sunderland Foodbank uses the Trussell Trust operating model and is part of the national foodbank network. The project is Christian based, and we welcome applications from people who subscribe to Christian values and principles: we do not discriminate on religious grounds.
You will work closely with Sunderland City Council and the Foodbank staff and volunteers.
